continue than at the feet of Mary? All the grace that we will need to find strength will flow from her willing hands. Without Mary, our shoulders would ache beneath our load and we would soon fall. Her heart is big enough to share all our troubles and sorrows and powerful enough to relieve them all. 6. . I fly unto Thee, O Virgin of Virgins, my Mother. 7 By meditating on Mary's favorite virtue, humility, we can readily see how our actions, even though they may seem good to us, are imperfect in the sight of God. Of ourselves, we do not possess the ability to perfect them. A poor farmer, wishing to pay the rent on his farm to his king had only a worm-eaten apple to do this. The farmer was well-liked by the queen and instead of presenting his rent to the king, he placed it in the queen's hands. She, out of respect for the king and kindness for the poor man, cleaned the apple and surrounded it with flowers. The king received it with joy from the queen he loved. He also thinks well of the man who did not deem himself worthy to approach him directly. 8 If the king's Name was God and the queen was Mary, St. Bernard tells us place it in Mary's hands if you do not wish to be refused. 9 Mary is the Child of God's love. He has never and will never come closer to any human being than Mary, for He became lncarnate within her sacred womb, He gave Himself to Mary and through Mary, He came to us. By giving ourselves and all our actions to Queen Mary to purify and present to the King, we will walk with giant steps in the way of God's commandments. She delivers the soul from weariness, sadness, and scruples. 10 Through her, grace will flow to us as pure water gushing from a mounta'in stream. Blessed is the soul where Mary dwells, for there she be- comes a worker of wonders! She causes Jesus Christ, the Fruit of her womb, her Masterpiece, to live in that soul! 11 When you follow Mary, you will not go astray, when you pray to her, you will you you you you not will will will will despair, when you think of her, not err: when she sustains you not fall: when she protects you not fear when she leads you, not become tired: when she favors you, you will arrive safely. IZ In this, the first year of Our Lady, nine- teen hundred and 'fifty-four, let us learn to make use of this precious Gift God has given us. Let us find the secret of sanctity through her who is the Gate of Heaven. To Jesus Through Mary '74 BIBLIOGRAPHY De Montfort, St. Louis. 'Q-1-Q Secreti Mary.
