3 66144 Mdfory It was a shy and bashful but determined group of freshmen that entered the ninth grade room on that first September morning At that time we were but gleams 1n the eyes of the Seniors because the junior Wiener Roast was only a month away Well, we ll let you guess the rest Afterwards they even tried to make us dance with girls' But things were different when our Freshman Frolrc rolled around Th1s was also the year that football held a real place on the sports calendar Although the first year was mostly practice sessnons, we were promised six competmons the following year Then, with our exams passed, we became Sophomores At the opening of our Sophomore year we were privileged to take our places in the newer and larger High School building Due to the increased enrollment, the class was divided 1nto two home rooms This year we held our annual dance, the Sophomore Stomp ID the school gym, with Tommy Pratt and his orchestra furnrshrng the music Toward the end of the year many of us were fortunate enough to attend the Senior Prom Then once more school closed for the summer vacation, leavlng us wtth the pleasant thought that we would soon be Iunrors As uniors our first and most rmportant task was to elect class ofiicers That accomplished, we began our sale of Christmas cards to acqu1re sufficient In December we put on our greatest success yet, The Sno Frolrc, Vwlfh Mike Kellys orchestra supplying the orchestration As the cnd of the year drew closer we attended the Senior Prom at the Hart Hotel and mo weeks later we were hosts to the Seniors at the unlor Senlor Banquet Graduation nrght we were given the honor of escorting the Senlors up the aisle in church During our vacation we pondered over and over aga1n What w1ll it be like when we are Seniors? And now with this important honor placed upon our shoulders we embarked upon our most momentous Journey that of our Senior year At our first class meet1ng lt was unanimously decided to publrsh a new and better year book' You are now reading tt' Our first big activity was the Halloween dance whrch turned out to be a big success Next, with Christmas coming we began our plans for the Senror Prom It was to be held on December 28th ln order to allow vaca tnonmg alumni to attend E Benson s Orchestra from Lansing was our chorce 81 O ' 9 3 . . , ' funds to sponsor the junior-Senior Banquet. 7 7 ' 1

Late in january, we began practice on our Senior play, The Whole Town's Laughing, to be nresented on March 17.
