at the Post Tavern where we wcrc stated at trbl s decorated wrth red blue and whrtc flowers candles and llttle rcd schoolhouscs Faxors wtrc Amcrzcxn li tuty roses, the handiwork of the unror gtrls R m mbcr the hours wc spent makmg them' On May Blst we saxd farewell to the Sennors at the un1orSen1or Banquet rn th Hart Hotel Ballrowm Decoratrons were carrred out rn a runbow motrf wrth a maypole rn the center of the flotr and a runbow formed by tts streamers It was at thrs tlme that w presented the Scnrors wrth our farewell grfts profl es glass plaques One of our fondest dreams came true une 7th In our Freshmen and Sophomore years all wc could do was to take part rn the srngrng for commcnccmfnt But now, as unrors we tc-ok the tradmonal places and escorted the Graduates down the arsle where they re cerved from Rrght Reverend Monslgnor Walsh thexr long awarted drplomas Senlors at last we could hardly belleve rt ourselves As such, we looked forward to our last year of garety and fun at St Ph1l1ps The umor Wrener Roast was held on October 16th at Wrllard Park The unrors took over our prxvrlege of the year before and IH great style the new Freshmen were ushered IIHO St Phllxp Hrgh Had we really looked that green just four years ago' Ghost Revellle our Sernor Halloween Dance, was presented on October 31st rn a setttng of ghosts lack o lanterns, and wrtches Whrle keeprng these characters company, we danced to the musrc of Ken Prrlm and hrs orchestra On November 24th Peggy McDonald entertarned the class at a party at her home The nerghbors cer taxnly must have enloyed the lovely srngrng xorces of the Senrors of St Phrlrps On the nlght of November a0th we rttended the unlors Olde Fashtoned Dance To thc accompanl ment of Les Vans orchestra we danced around an old fashtoned well The unrors took us back a few years by entertannrng us wrth square dancing durlng the xntermlssxon Our own Semor Prom was an occaslon to remember always We chose the Hart Hotel as the settrng and muslc was supplled by Bensons orchestra of Lansrng The cholce of December 78th as the date made possrble the attendance of many alumnr home for the holrdays to make rt a very gala evenrng Those porsonous lrttle darts whrch Dau Cuprd rs supposed to shoot rnto unsuspectrng hearts filled the ur of St Phtlrp largh school gymnasium on February Nth when the Sophomores presented Cuprd Capers The centerprece was an rmmense heart and large paper valentrnes adorned the walls Wtth wrnter gone there was a rush of sprrng events Among these was the Freshmen Sprmg Dance, where we once more spent an enjoyable evennng And then rt was agarn tlme for the Jun1orSen1or Banquet and rt was our turn to be the guests of honor It was a grand exenrng and we have the unrors to thank for a wonderful nrght to remember On une 6th we recerved our drplomas Often through our twelve years of school we had thought th1s would be the grandest of nxghts but we had no more than taken our frrst step down the aisle when mto our eyes came tears For once we werent ashamed although our relatxves, frlends, and classmates were all watchrng us As we neared the altar of the Most Hrgh we knew the begrnnmg of a feelrng that would follow us through lrfe, A lonesomeness for school After clasprng our d1pl0mas to our hearts we once agarn took our places rn the processron now we were Men and Women of the World Gertrude Olmytead Patrzcza Sweet t Q ' ' ' ' ' 2 1 L 22 I 1 T .
