4 SENIOR CLASS 'A' SEPTEMBER: The war is on, and daylight football is the thing! By conserving the electricity it takes to flood the field at night, the Devils will lick the Axis . . . We chose Mrs. Hillman, Mrs. Gay, and Mrs. Davis for our class advisers. With leaders like these we Canit fail to become a prominent senior class. OCTOBER: Everyone's joining the Victory Corps-a national high school wartime organization that offers preparatory classes in land, sea, and air training. NOVEMBER: We sent in our orders for the class rings this month and can't wait to see them shining on our hands . . . nPlant City Prancef' one of the best flings on the year's dance program, was given in honor of our football rivals, Plant City High, and we really Hdid it up rightw. DECEMBER: Well, it's out with the old and in with the new as the curtain rings down on the football sea- son and basketball becomes the athletic attraction . . . We spent a gay evening at 4'The Ladies' Aid of Cackle Cornersn. Fun de luxe and a cheerful earful of good music . . . We all wished each other Merry Christmas and went home for two weeks to have one ourselves. JANUARY: Mid-term exams cast a blue light on each senioris intel- lectual outlook, but we regained our normal hilarity at the 4'Flunker7s Flingfi one of the best dances of the year. FEBRUARY: A class meeting opened the month as we sadly realized how near we were to graduation and that invitations had to be ordered . . . With the close of the basketball season, we threw a dance for our team, 'gThe Basketball Bouncen--a hep hopl MARCH: Oh joy, oh woe! We were measured for caps and gowns after the class rings arrived. What a mixture of feelings gradua- tion brings! APRIL: For the annual senior play we chose to present HCeorge Washington Slept Hereii. Simply hilarious. MAY: The Junior-Senior Prom was lovely. How sad to think that this was our last school dance. JUNE: Once again we struggle through our exams lwe hopell, which are fol- lowed by the ever present Baccalaureate Service. Then, dear Diary, graduation. A chapter of our lives has closed, leav- ing a larger, wider unexplored one to follow. We said goodby to school, friends and teachers, expressing thanks for the interest and friendship shown us in this, our last year. CLASS OFFICERS President ....... BILL LAWTON Vice-President . . ALLEN ANDERSON W Secretary . . . PRISCILLA CLARK Treasurer ..... BARBARA BAYNARD 0 Advisers: . . MRS. HILLMAN, MRS. DAv1s, E MRS. GAY 5
