Dur- ing the first semester we moved in a sort of daze through a round of activ- ities including the monthly election of temporary class officers. The second semester included a very successful picnic where The eoeo palms stood fall, slim against the golden glow. Anal their gray and graceful plumes were warring to and fro. Our edition of the Palmetto and Pine was highly complimented by both faculty and students. and at graduation, the class aided the upperclassmen by decorating the stage for the Baccalaureate sermon. Under the competent ad- visership of Miss Edith Davis, Miss Yaryan, and Mr. Rudolph Earle we com- pleted a successful Sophomore term. As September of '34 dawned. we returned as proud Juniors, ready to enter into whatever the year had to offer. Our accomplishments included the annual Christmas Play, the Junior Operetta, 4'Don Alonzols Treasuref' and the Junior Edition of the Palmetto and Pine. As a final tribute to the graduating class the Juniors gave them a gala Junior-Senior Prom, and decorated the stage for Class Night. Magic breezes clear the fading shadows, and a spell of eternal enchantment wafts upon us as we fondly recall the happy hours of our senior year. With the same excellent advisers who guided us during our Junior year, Mrs. Gertrude Cobb Miller and Mr. Walter' W. Gay, and again under the leadership of Oliver Simard, we confidently set forth on the mystic ways of achievement which have carried us through our Senior year, our year of triumph. The class this year presented The Gipsy Trailu as the Senior Play. Other features included the election of Student Government Officers, management of the Palmetto and Pine. and editing of the annual. Social highlights were the lVlother's Tea and wllacky Dayf, The shadows of the past become more dense behind us as the shadows of the future begin to fade away before our oncoming steps. May it contain as many joyous days as those we spent at St. Petersburg High School! , ,..,,. . up wen y -if , 8 1 ,.
