Donald Baker President Betty Thomas Secretary John Burroughs Vice President John Hornsby Treasurer Senior History T HE dawn of the high school career of the senior class found us divided into three sophomore groups under the leadership of Don Baker, A-G; Bob Purvis, H-Q; Betty Thomas, R-Z. The high spot of this year was a gay sophomore picnic at which the three divisions united. As time progressed, we became juniors and reached our half-way mark. At this time we elected Don Baker, President; Margaret Japour and Betty Thomas, Vice- Presidents; Roberta Jones, Secretary; Marion White, Treasurer, and Esther Ulrich and Lawson B. Skidmore, advisors. The principal events during this year were the Junior Operetta, “Oh, Doctor,” the Junior Ballyhoo, Parents’ Night, and the Junior-Senior Banquet, at which our class feted the seniors with a dinner and dance. The high noon of our career was reached when at last we became seniors. The officers for this year were Don Baker, President; John Burroughs, Vice-President; Betty Thomas, Secretary; John Hornsby, Treasurer. The class this year presented a very successful play, “The Big Idea.” Other events were the senior picnic, the junior-senior prom, and tacky day. After completing the ceremonies of graduation, with happy memories of the past and confident hopes for the future, we are calling it a perfect day. Nineteen
