qribufe Cheerfulness and contentment are great beautifiers, And are fatrnous preservers of youthful looks. Somewhere, in the confused beginnings of our education, she appeared. We knew no tinie, only that our uncertainty mounted until one day it seemed that we could no longer cope, and she was there. Dawn followed our darkness however, and now as we look back to that period of confusion, helped us find our way. her words echo as ones that How can one repay another for a gift of the spirit? You can't send a thank you card. You may never be able to reach back in the same way that you have been reached. So what can be done? To be true to yourself, you must develop the ability to free your mind of the chains that bind it to the status quo. Because she believed in us, she instilled in each of us, the confidence to stand up for our principles. By fighting for her own principles, she was a constant model-caring, laughing, loving, living. With a unique sincerity, she sought to understand us as nurses and as human beings. As time passed, we too sought her as more than an instructor, more than a counselor, more than a friend-and she was always there. For the nursing abilities vve have gained through her guidance, and for the people we have become because she has passed through our lives, we can never fully express our gratitude. It is therefore in an attempt to show our appreciation, that we, The Class of 1972, dedicate our yearbook to one, who was above all, true to herself-Arlene Dilsalo.
