I know that you, as the president of the Missouri Teachers' Association, have prepared an ex- cellent program. Also I'm anxious to return to Joplin and St. Peters' after the fifteen years that have elapsed since our graduation in 1955. From Selma Hegeman, my very efficient secretary, I've learned that Joplin has gro n greatly and that it is the See City of a newly established dio cese with his Excellency, Joseph Roche as its bishop Recently Pat Douthat took time out of her busy schedule of lectures and tours throughout the United States to visit me After discussing her latest book The Importance of Kindergardens , she told me of our former classmates she had seen during recent tours Down in Houston, Texas, she found that Myra Sampson is the director of that city's leading hospital which is o ned by her husband, a wealthy Texan oil man While do n in the South Pat also attended the opening of a new Research Hospital in New Orleans This was being covered by Life Magazine by their top news photographer, Bruce Herider Upon investigating the hospital further she discovered that Sue Storey has accepted the position of head technician of one of the research laboratories Pat told me that Dave Gilbreth is row producer, director, and emcee on TV's top variety show Among his most popular guest stars are Marolyn and Carolyn Fox, who are now a famous Broadway dance team, and Carol Cignetti, who has won two Oscars as the best actress of the year While in New York Pat said she was fortunate to see Dale Kaumans pitch his team to the World Championship in the World Series During this off eason he intends to resume his position as manager of one of the larger branches of Haapala Inc , which is owned by Bill Haapala, Detroit dentist Also she visited Carolyn Berg's famous shop on Fifth Avenue Carolyn has become noted for her 'Caroline Originals' Mary Pat Eagen, a former Powers model, has made quite a name for them throu out the world Jerry Mathias also was in New York at this time preparing to go abroad for further research, he recently received the Nobel Prize for one of his scientific developments Among the other visitors to our nation's Capital was Jenell Craton, sightseeing with her husband, a Brazilian coffee grower, before returning to their plantation after a three months visit to the United States Dick Crim also was in Washington this last summer He was completing his work for a Ph D and has great plans for his basketball team which last season won the N C A A Yours very truly, Dean of History Catholic University of America ow? 7QZw1a!
