Hoi ever, a backward glance shows that the team was not too successful in the w column. The record for the season was two wins and six losses. The record, however, does not tell the whole story. The team had many fir players who gave all they had for the team. Among these players were Mickt Elko, quarterback and captain. Mickey did a job handling the team and if it hz not been for his great passing and ability to call the plays the season would ha' been a complete failure. Lou Barra, halfback, was the top ground gainer on tl team. Andy Pagano, halfback, did his share of running and passing. John Albe: a junior fullback, is a great all-round player and he is sure to be a threat ne year. The forward wall was made up of Ioe DeMaio, Bob Anderson, Jai Grogan, and Jim Lepping. These, plus the subs, did a great job despite ovc whelming odds. jerry Lyons held down the center of the line while Tom Hall and Ii DeBonis took care of the ends. Hall also did a fine job playing defensive tack' Others who did a I-ine job when called on were: jack Colligan, jim Sinnott, I D'Angiolillo, Paul Galkaske, Jack Liddy, Dick Finer, Ed Hoagland, Kevin Room Ken Delanoy, jack Gold. With the approaching graduation, the team will lose fifteen seniors, ls with the great job done by the underclassmen this year the outlook is bright i next year. For the first time in many years the football team was without the 2 customed coaching of Mr. Murphy. Bud,' was benched by illness and unable carry out the job as head coach. He has had an outstanding record as head coa and all concerned eagerly await his return next season. Sincere thanks are due to Mr. joseph f Porky J Egan, Mr. Nick Krauzer a Mr. Iames Feaster for the unstinted time and interest they gave to the footb squad while Mr. Murphy was incapacitated. 84
