GIRZS' BASKETBAZZ THE Girls' Basketball Team completed their I948-49 season with the creditable average of 535. The Cardinalettes scored a total of 437 points to their opponents' 376. The main portion of the scoring was divided among Carol Flomerfelt with l92 points, Lillian O'Rourke with l36 points, Mitzi Welter with 66 points and Maura Donavan with 36 points. The defensive play was adequately handled by Hundy Flanagan, Shirley Ryan, and Mary Sis Hoagland. Next year, the team will be minus the service of Mitzi Welter, Carol Flomerfelt, Lillian O'Rourke, Cecelia Flanagan, and Shirley Ryan as well as Mary Carstens, Anne McCabe and Colleen Lutz, valuable substitutes.
