John Henry Cardinal Newman April 7, T987 My Dear Seniors, The class of 1987 looks forward to a future full of good things: a good college education, a good job, a good marriage and a good life. Here at St. Peter's you have been given the foundation upon which to build your future. Your parents have provided you with a loving homelife on which you can pattern your future lives. You have received an excellent education imbued with Christian values and principles. This education is now yours to do with what you will. Responsibility and self-discipline have been our twin watchwords here and I hope you have benefited from that emphasis. Moreover, I hope our school, together with your parents, has formed you to be generous, open, loving individuals ready and willing to share the gifts of yourself with others. There is a natural sadness, perhaps, at leaving your old school, your Alma Mater, on graduation day. I think that you are not leaving St. Peter's behind, but rather are taking all that is good and gracious about St. Peter's with you. You are forever a part of St. Peter's and St. Peter's is forever a part of you. My warmest and most sincere wishes to the Class of 1987 for a future full of happiness, health, holiness and love.
