Out of the past elev- en years, the Spartans have appeared at State seven times . The Spartans were defeated in their quest to win two consecutive state titles , but had to settle for State Runner-Ups . During Pat Maurer's three years reign as head coach, he compiled a 72-10 record with a 78-79 seasonal record of 23-4. The MVP award, best Foul Shooting Percentage, Co-Captain, and most Rebounds went to All-Ohio Leo Brown. The best Defensive Player and most Assists was awarded to Kris Kowalski. Tim Mulherin accepted the Coaches award, while Tim Keller was honored by his teamates in accepting the Co-Cap- tain's award.
