6 in Hctinn The St. Paul's Blue Eagles opened the 1949 football campaign by dropping a hard fought Z0-6 decision to the Wildwood Wildcats. Journeying to Dade City the Eagles absorbed their second straight defeat when the Pasco Pirates steam-rolled to a 43-O victory. Returning to Memorial Field, the Blue Eagles encountered the Pinecrest Pilots and suffered their third defeat by a 20-6 score. Playing host to the Brandon Eagles, St. Paul's dropped their fourth straight defeat and third Tampa Bay Conference loss to the tune of 20-6. Scoring twice in the Hrst six minutes of play the OLPH Bears of Tampa went on to hand the Eagles a 24-7 defeat and their fifth straight loss.
