PATH THAT LEAD TOWARD HOME The Queen and her court. HO ECOMING '77-'78 The senior boys got the Homecoming week end rolling with the annual bonfire held at the K of C hall on Thursday, October 20th. Pre-game festivities were highlighted by the Homecoming parade beginning at the pub- lic library and traveling down lVlain Street, ending at Whitney Field. ' Parents, attendants, and escorts arrived at the field in shined up convertibles,.courtesy A of area residents and car dealers, as the band played the Flyer Fight songland alma mater. Nlr. Mike Hay announced the attendants and escorts as they walked across the field. Donna Wurzel, selected by the student body as queen, was crowned at mid-field just prior to game tlme. The junior class, with their lighted float and Take It To A Victory theme, won the float competition followed by the seniors taking second place. The sophomores and freshmen taking third and fourth place respec- tively. The dance was held at the Conservation Club in Norwalk on Homecoming Sunday fea- turing The Blue Notes as the musical enter- tainment. It was attended by nearly two-thirds of the student body clad in formal attire. Student Council, the sponsoring group, announced a profit of about two hundred dollars. It was a full night of enjoyment lasting from seven until eleven p.m. The scoreboard told the game story as the Flyers were beat by South Central 23-14, but it does not show the great memories and mo- ments shared by all as Homecoming '77-'78 will be remembered as one of the best home- comings ever. ' We shall never forget our paths that lead toward home.
