Randolph Edmonds Players ' Guild Thursday, November 14, 1974. Purlie was played by Pedro Abad who also received credits for directing the play. Others in the cast included Deborah Scott, Martha Elmore, Francis Porter, Hampton Johnson, Avery McGil- vary, Warren Fields, Edwanda Hayes, and Melvin Porcher. Chris Thomas was stage manager and Carolyn Griffin was in charge of properties. The production was dedicated to the many years of service rendered by Dr. W. Hayden Boyers, professor of English and drama¬ tics. A rousing success, the play was enthusiastically received by a full house i n Kirby Auditorium. But to every closed door there is a key — FAITH. We found that key and because of this discovery we survived the long hours filled with hard work, symbolic of a trip to the land of success. Just as the members of the Tiger Staff accomplished a goal that once seemed impossible, so can you as Saint Paulites. Sisters and Brothers believe in yourselves and your abilities. Have faith that you can do whatever you want to do. But faith without effort is futile; therefore, I would like to impress upon all of you the essence of true Blackness: Performance not excuses. 146 Year after year, others have tried to show the life of Saint Paul ' s College in pictures. The 1975 Yearbook Staff has attempted to express the warm feeling of The Family in this issue of the Tiger. This feeling is the phase of college life found here at Saint Paul ' s that makes everyone feel that he is more than just another number. Our Family centers around the church, and this idea is proudly represented by the cover.
