We are of different shades of color, But we have one thing in common. Our parents taught us to love, trust, have faith, and share; We bring these things to our new FAMILY AFFAIR. — Debora L. Rainey He never spoke a word to me, And yet He called my name; He never gave a sign to me, And yet I knew and came. ? ' 5v You are a part of me. I do not know By what slow chemistry you first became A vital fiber of my being. Tell me about Soul Do you know? Have I got it? Do you have it? Can you touch mine? I ' ll touch yours. I, too, sing America. I am the darker brother. They send me to eat in the kitchen When company comes, But I laugh, And eat well, And grow strong. Peace is here and a quiet beauty. 6 Sorrow is the only faithful one: The lone companion clinging like a season To its original skin no matter what the variations. I dream a world where man No other will scorn, Where love will bless the earth And peace its paths adorn. 7 Can I afford friendship? WOODS Co-editor If a task is once begun, never leave it ' til it ' s done. Be the labor great or small, do it well or not at all. These words are indicative of the diligence exemplified by the members of the 1974-75 Tiger Staff . . . THANKS!!! When the Tiger Staff began work, we found many closed doors. But to every closed door there is a key — FAITH. We found that key and because of this discovery we survived the long hours filled with hard work, symbolic of a trip to the land of success. Just as the members of the Tiger Staff accomplished a goal that once seemed impossible, so can you as Saint Paulites. Sisters and Brothers believe in yourselves and your abilities. Have faith that you can do whatever you want to do. But faith without effort is futile; therefore, I would like to impress upon all of you the essence of true Blackness: Performance not excuses. 146 Year after year, others have tried to show the life of Saint Paul ' s College in pictures. The 1975 Yearbook Staff has attempted to express the warm feeling of The Family in this issue of the Tiger. This feeling is the phase of college life found here at Saint Paul ' s that makes everyone feel that he is more than just another number. Our Family centers around the church, and this idea is proudly represented by the cover. From this and other characteristics of the Saint Paul ' s Family most Saint Paulites develop to be mature assets to our society. Working with this yearbook staff has been a true pleasure to me as well as a true learning experience. Regardless of the late start and early deadline, members of the staff worked diligently until the very end to make this yearbook a true symbol of Saint Paul ' s College. I would like to express a special thanks to Stanley W. Johnson for his contributions toward planning and his hard work in the actual development of this book. Additionally, special thanks go to all the people who stood behind Phyllis and me during the development of the 1 975 Tiger.
