LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT of the Class of 1957 We, the Senior Class of 1957, members of the college family of Saint Paul’s Polytechnic Institute, being in possession of sound mind, do hereby declare this to be our last will and testament. To our President, Dr. Earl H. McClenney we leave our sincere wishes for a long, happy, and successful administration. To our Alma Mater, we bequeath our pledge to carry ever forward the torch of enlightenment and knowledge. To our Faculty, we leave our sincere gratitude for understanding individual differences. To the Juniors, we leave our honest efforts to acquire dignity and our ability to hold superior positions. To the Sophomores, we leave our spirit of cooperation. To the Freshmen, we leave this thought: Fofty ideals, a spirit of cooperation, and arduous labor are essentials for building the type of leadership required by today s complex society. Individual Bequests Alice Ashley leaves her ability to sing to any deserving choir member. Emma Hunter leaves her cosmetic kit to Fannie Midder. Yvonne Malone leaves her attractiveness to Jessie Crews. George McLaughlin leaves to Proctor Houston his ability to argue a point, whether right or wrong. Augustus Harmon leaves his ability to get along with women to Teddy Silvey. Barbara Robertson wills to Gloria Motley her ability to talk to the male sex without falling in love. Johnson Harmon leaves his good grooming taste to Gatha Richardson. Gladys Williams leaves her coolness to Zella Williams, to Lillie Walters, and to Howard Copeland. Annie Brown leaves her ability to sew to Delores Graves. Jerry Windley leaves his position on the football team to Thurrel Taylor. Clarence Brodnax wills his ability to be president of every organiza¬ tion to anyone who has never held an office. Shirley Oliver leaves her waistline to Mary Otho.

CLASS POEM PARTING When day is quickly, ending And night’s long shadows come, We often count our blessings And many things left undone. Our task is never ending, Our victory so far, But we will keep on striving % Until we find our star. Before our day is over, Before our task is done, Comes the glad sounds of parting, Farewell to everyone 0 school, with all your splendor, We’ll miss you so, I fear; Your hallowed grounds so tende 1 Will echo through the years. May songs we sing so gayly To our school on the hill Stand for all we cherished: Love, friendship and goodwill. Doris Johnson’s intriguing charm is left to Julia Burgess. Della Suckins leaves some vitamin pills to Mildred Daise. Arbelle Charity leaves her hair bob to Mary Thompson. Constance Lambeth leaves her ability to take dictation to Maurita Powell. Margaret Williams leaves her “all-around” wardrobe to Theresa Wilkins. Henry Moss leaves to David Busch his ability to do carving in carpentry. Sam Lenox leaves his Louisiana drawl to Alan Thomas so that Alan can come down to earth. Glendola Poindexter wills her seat in the Dean of Women’s Office to Lillian Morings. Marilyn Williams leaves her dramatic ability to Lalisha Corbin. Hazel Brice leaves her business-like ways to Delores Solomon. Margaret Brown leaves her grace in dancing to Yvonne Jelfries. Wesley Scott leaves his quiet and reserved manners to Rodney Lewis. John Wright leaves his job as chauffeur for Dean Harrison to Joshua Hutcains. Nellie Mangrum leaves her reserved manner to any girl who can use it.
