Lela Wilson was admitted to the bar by the state of Maryland. Lillian Gravely is director of Business Administration at Maryland University and Mary Wood is supervisor of Home Economics in the city system in Baltimore. Bessie Chatmon will make her musical debut Sunday, June 5, 1950, and W. B. Jones will be guest conductor with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. In Chicago people are stopping in Letha’s Leather Shoppe for the finest in leather, and through the portals of Eleanors House of Beauty in D. C. pass the worlds most beautiful women, Eleanor Murphy, proprietor. Marian Person has just returned from an extensive tour of the Latin Americas with ideas for those charming designs shown in her shoppe on Fifth Avenue. Elea¬ nor Johns, Lillian Coleman and Gazaria Brown, her assistants, traveled with her. Have you read the articles on “The Care of Your Children,” by Mattie Hicks, Helen Robertson and Louanna White, published weekly in The Ladies Home Magazine? Catherine Tillar is editor; Virginia Mabry, associate editor. Georgia White has an interesting article on “Your Clothes and You” in the same magazine. Mrs. Ellen Nelson is doing well with her kindergarten in Lawrenceville. Mary Hill is working with her. Gilbert Darden is in Mexico working on that book he has always wanted to write. Charles Dabney is the owner of one of the largest oyster businesses in the country. It takes all of Mary Coleman’s and Teresa Owens’ time to keep the books straight. Wedding bells! Katherine Jones finally married Cyrus last week; she was a beautiful bride. Have you seen the Sheik of Araby? No? Well if you are ever in D. C. go up on 7th and there he is, none other than Thomas Mays. There are others of the class but they are moving so fast until I can’t keep up with them. They are really living. Everything is fading now and the prophecy is over. Well it was wonderful while at lasted. 82 83 Compliments of THOMAS HARDWARE FURNITURE CO. INCORPORATED Phone 32 THOMAS EQUIPMENT CO.
