Q if L Filled with all the excitement and enthusiasm which accompanies that first day' in high school, the freshmen began their 'class time' at Cathedral. Boldly they came, they saw, and they conquered' their Latin grammar and vocabulary. Our freshmen have done equally well with the many complex signs and symbols BEGINNING NHHN MASS HMI As a class the freshmen are exceptionally high in school spirit. Every basketball game and school activity will find them eagerly cheering on their new Alma Mater. Displaying their musical talent, the freshman Glee Club presented a Christmas program which will be long remembered. In future years, the enthusi- asm and spirit of the freshmen will carry them far at C.H.S. of algebra. F4 ' b .ASW Q g,'j'i - . Q 7 -e

Wllll Yllll ll A Il GAY The final curtain fell about 11:00 p.m. on january 12, leaving a contented audience and a happy cast. Indeed, under Father Griffith's capable direction, these thespians gave an unforgettable performance. In supporting roles were Betsy Murray and Shirley Henry as Mrs. Skinner, Bill Barna as Otis Skinner, and Duchene King and Barbara Fagan as Madame de la Croix. Also included were Bernadette Barrett and Dolores Caldwell, Rita and Carole Ruch, Barbara Shields and Emilia Donatelli, Peggy Steele and Gloria Arnone, Lois Rihn and Mary Eileen O'Shea, MargaretO'Hara and Carol Ertzman. The male roles were played by Centralites, jack Briley, Mike Nash, and jack McGough. ln the class play, Our Hearts Were Young and Gay, we traveled on the wings of time back to the 'roaring twenties, when Cornelia Otis Skin- new and Emily Kimbrough made an ocean voyage to Paris. The plights they had, the troubles they encountered, the diseases they overcame, the act- ing lessons they took - kept an appreciative audi- ence in a gale of laughter throughout the whole play. The double cast, headed by jean Roney and Eleanor Morin as Cornelia, joan Reilly and Teresa Prendergast as Emily, gave fine performances that will long be remembered. 37
