Through the Years '48 - '49 As we, Seniors, look back over our high school days passed at St. Paul's, we realize more than ever how full of happiness these days were. Many pleasant memories are with us now and, as we draw aside the curtain of the past, we see again September 7, l948. It is recorded as an important and eventful day, for it marks the beginning of our High School career. Eager little Freshmen we were, unaccustomed to the superior ways of the upper classmen and the un- familiar methods of High School instructions. Feeling quite timid and con- spicuous, we lived up to the traditional Freshmen title Greenie . Before many days passed we began to feel more at ease and to lose our shyness. We elected Paul Orr president of the class. Then we eagerly took part in the many activities which the school offered. Under Sister Caroline's able assistance we successfully completed our first year of High School. 1 9 49- 50 On Se Jtember 6, we returned to St. Paul's So Jhomores. We were sli 'htlv I I S . decreased in number, but full of pep and eager to begin a prosperous year. Second year Latin and Geometry kept us more than busy, but by patience and perseverance we managed them at last. We elected Michael Solms to be our president. It was in this year that we were received into the C.Y.O. - a mem- orable event. Could we ever for et? With the helm of our s onsor, Sister 8 I P Henrietta, our so Jhomore ear came to a successful close. I Y '50 - ' 5 1 ln September 1950, we commenced our junior year at St. Paul's and assumed our famous name of jolly juniors . One of our first activities was the election of class officers with the result that Tom McNamara was elected president, and Tom Huneck, editor of the Spotlite. We really had a busy year. We turned out two issues of the Spotlite, one at Christmas and one in june. We gave a very successful junior-Senior Banquet and Prom. -Ioan Stilwell was chosen Prom Queen, and Mary Lou Guerrero, Senior, and Dorothy Miller, junior, were her attendants. Time sped on and almost before we were aware of it, thanks to our sponsor, Sister Aurelia, we reached the Senior rank. 9 5 1 - 7 5 2 Last September we entered upon our last year in St. Paul's High School. Seniors at last! We felt rather free as there were no upper-classmen to order us around. We again elected Mike Solms as president of our class and we chose Carolyn Williams to be the editor of the Paulist. Sister Augustine, our Sponsor, guided us on safely through this our busiest, best and Ill0St important of our high school years. The great day of our Commencement-the day so long anticipated- is fast approaching. We trust that we have merited the good will of our fellow students during our stay at St. Paul's. We hope that they will always feel that they have been benefited by our example. Ami when we receive our diplomas from the hands of our Pastor, may they be the premiums of good work well done, and a pledge that the line training acquired here may live forever in our lives. Carolyn Williams '52. I7
