Here, Mrs. Brown shows how much fun it is. The squads entertain us by doing skits or performing routines. One ofthe most enjoyable rallies was when a student from every class was able to throw a pie at a teacher's faceg among these teachers were Mr. Dineen and Mr. Cericlejas. o 5 5 is if - r f tue? i at V25 W X. ,ff I . 5: L ,i 9 ' ,n r 5 i T r 1 .- l N I A as - 5, . A few Freshmen and Sophomore football players show us their idea of a perfect cheerleader, Screaming, Try to imagine yourself in a small gym which is about to explode because there are so many people inside. You are sit- ting in a seat, standing up, or sitting on the bleachers. The people around you are acting extremely bizarre, screaming, clapping, whistling, and doing cheers. They even stand on the top of their seats just to see some guys with no hair come in. Don't be frightened, it's only a descrip- tion of an average St. Paul rally. You may think it is strange, but it's actually a lot of fun. Rallies were held before important games and their purpose was to promote spirit and unity in the school by getting everyone involved in a fun way. When a few students were asked why they enjoyed rallies their response was, It's a nice way to end a hectic week.

St. Paulis spirit was once again put to the test during Spirit Week. Everyday of the week had a different activity or event scheduled, and certain clothing and ac- cessories could be worn on certain days. Some things worn included specific colors for each classg Freshmen wore pink, Sophomores wore yellow, Juniors wore purple, and Seniors wore red. Some Sen- iors even went to the extent of coloring their hair red. Contests were held at lunch and any- one could participate, Some of the con- tests were guessing the amount of jelly beans in a jar, and the weight of a pump- kin. There were also team contests such as the ice block race, whip cream and donut eating contests. The winners of Spirit Week were an- nounced during the Homecoming Rally. Seniors took first place, Juniors took sec- ond place, Sophomores took third place, and Freshmen took fourth place. Sophomores show us their spirit durv ing the rally of Spirit Week. e've Got Spirit!
