Chess Is The Word Is The Word KING ME ' !! L-R: IVIrs. Osborne, David Telles, David Chavez, Maureen Beal. David Zani- berlan. Max Estenger. Ken Crowder. Due to popular demand, Mrs. Osborne and interested stu- dents formed the chess club. In the club, skills were improved by competing bi-weekly in matches with each other. After developing their talents in this game, the chess club sponsored a school-wide tournament where winners were awarded tro- phies at a special presentation banquet. The club was an assortment of football, basketball, baseball, track and cross-country mem- bers who received a letter in their respective sports. Mrs. Ransons; Pres A Step Into The Outer Limits! Thanks to a good moderator and interested students, the Sci- enee Fiction Club has begun its second year. This club enables all those Sci-Fi Fanatics to further their interests in strange phenom- ena. Fund-raisers this year included candy apple sales and a candy count contest occurring during the last week of October. The pro- ceeds were to take the members to the annual Knott ' s Scary Farm. Parents energetically gave their support to St. Paul ' s this year. They volunteered their time to help in all phases of St. Paul Life. Fund-raising plans included the annual International Dinner and an Art Auction. This year, the club was headed by Frank Curran, with There- sa Gunther and Cainille Flores as 1st and 2nd Vice Presidents. Parents are as enthused as students Boosters Do It Again! With continuous encouragement, the Boosters undertook the responsibility of supporting our athletic department. As always, they helped our sports activities remain safe and order- ly. They once again sponsored the Varsity Football Awards Banquet. We want to thank the Boosters who stand out proud- ly at our games in their white jackets embossed with Sammy Swordsmen — THANKS!!
