Backpackers Do It Step By Step This year the Hiking Club was taken over by Sr. Celine Shumacher. With energetic students, it got off to an enthu- siastic start. Trips were taken to Lytic Creek, San Gorgonio, and the nearby San Bernadino Mountains. Overnight camping trips were interesting and exciting to all involved. Slides and information shared among club members. To quote Sr. Celine, This club is to enjoy the mountains and get away from the smog!! Well, that ' s for sure — hiking ' s the solution! This club enables all those Sci-Fi Fanatics to further their interests in strange phenom- ena. Fund-raisers this year included candy apple sales and a candy count contest occurring during the last week of October. The pro- ceeds were to take the members to the annual Knott ' s Scary Farm.
