ff Important assets to our administration are Mrs. Shia, our serretary, and Mrs. Gillen our registrar. ln the past four years our library has grown from a few books to over 5,500 volumes, This growth is due to contribu- tions made by various convents and parishes as well as indi- vidual donations. The goal ofthe library this year has been two-told: to in- crease the number of books in the 400, current biography, recent fiction, and magazine sections and to encourage a spirit of independent study among the members ofthe student body. This spirit is evidenced during the quiet study periods throughout the day.

. . and from our Deans. My dear girls, As we receive our yearbook, the LUMEN, we are reminded that another year has gone into our book of lite. You, girls, must keep this word LUMEN deeply engraved on your life's book. LUMEN-LIGHT! A light gives radiance and warmth. Let the radiance of your goodness en- lighten and brighten a world in darkness. Let the warmth of your kindness and love melt the cold- ness of sin-chilled humanity. Though your life's light may be small, united with the Lgvely Lady of Light you can be a veri- table sunburst of radiant splendor. Walk always with that Lady who will lead you ever onward to the Light of the World! Yours lovingly, XQMQV Qsiffiswh as send , f X ,f 8 Bon voyage, graduates, in your iourney through life! May your days be happy and fruit- ful for your church and coun- try. You have the glorious op- portunity of making this world a better place to live. Remem- ber, opportunity never knocks twice. Now is the time for you, the undergraduates, to prepare for graduation so that you may be equipped for your next step in life. Life comes to you in min- utes. An ounce of foresight is worth a ton of hindsight. God love you always. May you al- ways love Him. ,3,.ff6ae4:s,0.s.,:
