Best Wishes to Mrs. Mooney in any- thing she attempts. Z2Q0O - ™}O OUMD The 1978 ESTONOA Staff would like to dedicate this 1978 edition to Mr. Charles Harmon. Thanks to his devotion and guidance toward his students, they have been able to not only accomplish musical aims and goals, but also with his love and understanding, they have been able to see life more clearly. He is more than a teacher, he is.a friend who is willing to give his time to help solve the problems of his students and to help them profit from their mistakes. With love, we acknowledge his work and thank him for being the good-humored and warm-hearted person he is. =bV—=O2Z—vDdD DCO JAMES A WARD Saint Paul High School Saint Paul, Virginia Telephone 762-5221 James A. Ward, Principal A Wise County School Mar-chimz Ohm Ome MEMBERS OF THE SENIOR CLASS OF 1978: The time is rapidly approaching when you will have to do your thing . The major question you will have to answer in the near future is what is my thing? Is it college? Is it work? Is it military service? Do I get married? Do I work for Dad? Do I leave home? You have had the largest portion of your life preparing yourself to confront these questions, yet when the time comes to answer them most of you are not ready to do so. Those among you who have given these questions serious thought over the years are best suited to deal with them, the others will experience much heartache and lost time before dealing with them positively. Adult life is not nearly as complex as you may have been led to believe. It is true that the decisions you face will be more difficult and yaiwill be burdened with living with the consequenses of your decision alone. The longer you live, the more successful you become, and the higher the station you attain in life the more diffucult it becomes to pass the buck . To succeed you must be willing to accept the buck . Take the responsibilities it brings. Do not be afraid uf work. You will find that when you are willing to accept the rigors of hard work and the responsibility of making the buck stop with you, you will truly have found the magic formula for succeeding in adult life. 233222 aa ames A. Ward Principal — a Mrs. Truth Fraley, Guidance Counselor py au (Oy — Fe Ina) eek knowledge of self and life. ndeavor to find goodness in life. ow is not forever in life. nitiate self-challenges in life. open minds are the gardens of life. ealize your potential in life. ensitivity to the world and those around you is the pulse of life. ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANTS Mr. Jack Turner, Assistant Principal Like many others, | sincerely wish you health and prosperity both physically and spiritually. Beyond this, please acknowledge the fact that your school career has contributed greatly to your ability to exercise sound judgment in the absence of prejudice. You are capable of clarifying your values to the point that you become satisfied with your beliefs and are ready to stand behind them. Given this ‘‘self actualization,’’ why not latch onto a cause? There are improvements to be made; there are inequities to be dissolved; there are lots of people with lots of ideas who need your attention. — wa The office workers are a main part of S.P.H.S. Even with a great deal of work to keep her busy, Mrs. Lucas has time for a friendly smile and a kind word. Mrs. Lawson's great personality and sunny smile are as important as the duties she fulfills in the office. Our custodian, Mr. Hileman is a great help in keeping things clean and orderly. We deeply appreciate their willingness to help and the cheerful atmosphere they contribute to our school. Elizabeth Lawson, Asst.
