It was a good year, winning our first football game, losing our parking lot, and looking at our flag pole for the last time of the school year. 4 Dedication The members of fhe 1971-72 Estona 9taff Mr. William B. Renfro Choosing a deserving faculty member for the dedication was a hard decision this year. So many of our teachers have endeavored to achieve the very best for our school and its students. Without Mr. Renfro, we may not have achieved the Baseball District Co-Cham- pionship. His concern and faith in the players was without doubt. Mr. Bill Renfro helps develop young athletes through teaching strenuous physical education. He coaches the junior varsity basketball team and is quite an independent team player himself. Our of the classroom, he manages many hours of drivers education. Mar- ried to Maria Renfro, he is soon to become a proud father. To him we present our thanks, appreciation, and the 1971-72 ESTONOA. 5 1971-72 Estonoa Annual Staff LEFT TO RIGHT: Lynn Austin, Robert Stewart, Karen Popp, Eddie Bradley, Angela Lewis, Patty Brickey, Mrs. Ramsey. The St. Paul Deacons, wno have won their last games, added Pocy Indians to their vic- tory list by a score of 19-0. Lead by Bill Salyers and Eddie Bradley, the Deacons crossed the goal line three times. Once on a one yard TO and again on a 16 yard run by Salyers to score, and third time by a 45 yard pass fromSalyers toBrad- ley. Pat Bradley added the extra point on the first touchdown to complete the score. St. Paul’s coach Hagy com- mented on the performance of the Deacons first string, defen- sive team, noting that Pocy made only three first downs in three quarters. His opinion of the offensive team was based upon the three touchdowns made out of the seven scoring oppor- tunities which the team had.The fact that St. Paul had three TO ’s called back boosted his opinion, but a field goal missed at five yards is somewhat hard to understand. Leading the offensive players in their effort was Bill Salyers and Johnny Dean, while Rodney Trent Glenn Salyers sparked the defensive line. Statistics for the game are as follows: Pocy. 00 0 00 S. This year, St. Paul could be in quite a few games. “We still may be a year away,” said the coach, “but that’s the good thing about having experienced sophomores. You’ve got them for two more seasons after this one ” This final page of the Estonoa is dedicated to the ’72 foot- ball team, future athletes, and all of the school-spirited students at St. Paul.
