Mary Margaret Harding, Linda Fuller, Bill Slagle, Thelma Robinson, Jimmy Cooper, and Amelia Deen are completing their twelve years at St. Paul School. In the Second Grade Gary Crowder entered our class from Dante, Virginia, and Kathryn Barnes Roller from Clinchco, Virginia. Betty Jo Glovier and Helen Glovier joined us in the Third Grade. From Dante, Edwin Gillenwater joined us in the Fourth Grade, and Pat Hall in the Fifth. Our Seventh Grade class was greatly increased because several students from Dwina and Virginia City entered school here. Among these students were: James Everette Holbrook, Glenna Brooks, Betty Reed, Janie Evans, and Barbara Robinette. Our Eighth and Ninth Grades were entered with great expectations. With the guidance of Mrs. Morris, Mr. Salyer, Mrs. Simpson, and Mr. Ashworth we became adjusted to high school life. During our Sophomore year the St. Paul “Deacon” Band was organized, and eight members of our class joined. We also took part in the May Day. Jerry Ramey entered our class this year from Clinchco. Our Junior year was full of pleasant days. We published our school paper, “Hi- Lights,” received our class rings, and participated in the May Day. Our sponsor, M r. James Manicure, helped us to organize our Junior-Senior Prom, which was given in hie Library. The theme, “A Country Garden,” was carried out to full extent with a typical garden scene. Now we are nearing the end of a happy and extremely busy Senior year. During this year we have published the ESTONOA. We are now preparing for graduation, and we are honored to be the first class to graduate in our new Activities Building. Our Valedictorian and Salutatorian are Amelia Deen and Jimmy Cooper. We are grateful to our parents, teachers, and principal for making it possible for us to arrive at this great moment in our life--our graduation from our Alma Mater, St. Paul High School.
