It IS still 1ncomprehens1b1e to me ex en after my haung seen It As usual I have left the best to tell untll last Bryce It IS the smallest of the three Perhaps that IS why I can appreclate It more fully but 1ts S176 is not the only reason for my play mg favorites In the first place I saw It ln two ways at sunrlse and under the moonhght I slmply must tell you about the sunrlse Before the first rays of the sun peep over the eastern r1m the tax ernous depths are swathed 1n black densltles and gray mlst As the sun marches along the sky thc shadow s and mlsts xanlsh and in thelr stead one sees the most amfwlng colors whlch bathe the canyon wlth thelr glories Then too the lock formations gi adually become x 1s1ble and wlth lust a xx ee blt of 1mag1na.t1on one sees such figures as the Holy Fam1ly the Pope with hls flowing robes of whlte the stately figure of Queen V1ctor1a vt 1th her lords and ladles about her Thor s hammer the flaming hulk of the smk mg shlp the Cathedral with three splres and many other such lnterestlng figures Why ex en Wall Street is represented in the Silent C1ty Under moonhght one sees much the same thmg except that lt IS all sort of ghostly xxlnte mstead of brllllantly colored as lt IS ln the daytxme Llsten Eleanor thel e s ever so much more to tell you about these thlngs but It would take more tune than I dare use now because lt IS very late almost one 0 clock and I have to get up at five Lets hope our shadows meet on a moon beam tomght They certamly have heaps to say to each other Slncerely yours Gerry E' 9 ff' A fx U A J J' J, x , V f , . . : 1 L, - I I ,MU l ..
