Paz-uma Same Richmond Family Has Sem' Four Generafionst fo Sf. ,Pafrick's Stif-Patrlck's School likes to keep its students in the fam- lly.j Since the early 1900's four generations from the same Richmond area family have been taught by the school's Sisters of Charity. - They didn't have uniforms or yearbooks or school huses when l was there, said Mrs. Columbus B. Donati of Me- chaniesville. Mrs. Donati then was Eve- ly1 Griffin, one of a family of ,fiye children all of whom atended the school on Church I-llll. 'She and her brother and two sisters were only follow- ing ln their mother's foot- steps when they walked 16 blocks each moming to classes during the 1920's. Their mother, Mrs. Lillian Griffin Sierpina, also walked to class in the old St. Pat- ri':k's School at 25th and Franklin streets during the early 1900's. Mrs. Sierpina, who is 70 years old and has lived in Connecticut for the past 3l years, plans to come to Rich- mond next fall for St. Pat- rick's 100th anniversary cele- hratlon. It'll be a real family cele- hration for us, Mrs. Donati said. My brother graduated the same year I did in l932. He was the only boy in a class of 25 students. f This year's 28 St. Patrick's seniors make up the school's 100th graduating class. Mrs. Donati's children and her grandchildren have gone to St. Patrick's, too. I have two children en- rolled now and three have graduated, Mrs. Donati sa'd. Oldest son, Stanley B. Don- ati, graduated in 1953. One of his classmates, William Gef- fert, later was to become his brother-in-law. Continuing the family loyal- ty' to St. Patrlck's, Donati has enrolled his two daughters in the lower school. Carolyn Ann, 7, and Donna Marie, 8, are among the first students in the family to wear the school uniform - green jumpers and white blouses. Their dad, however, did ride a school bus instead of walk- ing. Four-year-old Keith Stanl' also plans to keen St. , rick's in the family. Q l'm going, too, when l'm big enough, he confided. E However, the children in tht Stanley Donati family have a double reason for wanting to go to St. Patrick's. Their mother, the former Patricia Pezzella, is a grad- uate of St. Patrick's class ot 1954. i git We QYUN '3,f,m-puff DE Qu, t 'D
