CLASS HISTORY As l sut here explorung the kungdom of my memory the many lnterestung and never to be forgotten events of our hugh school lufe appear before me Remember that furst day? We started off wuth a bang by comung un late Suster Marua Walter however came to our aud by usherung us unto the audutoruum and acquauntung us wuth the rules and subuects of Saunt Patruck s We stalked out full of confudence only to be suppressed by the warnung glances of the Senuors whuch could mean only one thung lnutuatuonlll On October thurtueth the Senuors held theur annual Hallowe en dance un whuch we Freshmen had a very actuve part How well we gurls remember pugtauls bows odd shoes and socks the boys theur kerchuefs reversed coats and rolled up pants legs Thus comuc atture accompanued our formal acceptance unto Saunt Patrucks Then we buckled down lfor awhulel to the new and varued subuects confrontung us The dauly routune of school lufe was brughtened by the begunnung of the basketball season when our boys played on the lay Vee l-low could the annual play Forward Pass have been a success wuthout our partucupatuon un the Cross Eyed Kelly routune? The excute ment of the play had hardly dued down when another sheet was torn from the calendar and june wuth uts exams was upon us In September we entered the portals of Saunt Patruck s more sophustu cated and worldly wuse tWe can dream can t we9l A common second year dusease known as Sophomorutus afflucted us Instead of putyung the shy frughtened newcomers we took great pleasure un tormentung them We were the furst class to remaun unduvuded much to our delught lt dud not take us long to master the French tongue Our vocabulary however con susted of only four words je ne comprends pas On December eughth l94l the Unuted States entered unto a state of war wuth japan Thus stunned us and made us realuze that we have to fught to preserve that whuch us worth whule The play that year Face the Musuc had us facung the auduence un a luvely dance number Sung lt and Swung lt and more umportant we were facung another year And now we are unuors' The last half of our uourney through hugh school has begun We stull occupued one homeroom but the Academuc and Commercual students were untroduced to theur partucular subjects Compe tutuon reugn d between the two groups wuth each tryung to outdo the other scholastucally It was our turn to guve the Thanksguvung dance and we were very proud of the long remembered affaur that we sponsored january twelfth was the day chosen for the prom a memorable occasuon because for many thus was theur furst formal affaur On September fourteenth I943 we Senuors at last proudly marched through the front door to begun our funal year Our furst days were blughted by the ullness of Suster Marua Walter but Suster Alexune ably stepped un and assumed the dutues of pruncupal The udea of leavung was more prevalent than that of enterung Alexander Balandus and Thomas Davus prompted by theur patruotuc spurut enlusted before completuon of the term Our loss was the Navys gaun Takung up our coveted place as Senuors our attentuon naturally was focused on the Freshmen Those poor Freshmen' We had one offucual day of unutuatuon and everyone cooperated wholeheartedly The ma oruty of our boys played on the Varsuty producung one of the best teams un several years However our studues were not neglected for we realuzed that we had to grasp every but of knowledge that came our way Now ut us tume to go Lunger a luttle longer? l-low we wush we could but tume and tude waut for no man We cannot stop the onrollung years any more than we can luve agaun those happy tumes washed away wuth the out goung tude So reluctantly we leave the portals whereun we spent the happuest years of our Iuves 1 1 1 1 -1 . . . . 1 . . 1 - ' 1 1 1 ' , . . . 1 , 11 11 - - - - - 11 11 . . 1 ' 1 - . . 1 . .
