I , FVCSLIMGU' I 9 'I 7' VY Freckle-faced and slightly heavy, Tolly arrived in Tolentine in 1947. Her uniform was brand new and Nd very shiny. Her feet were adorned with white socks and moccasins. Her hair was straight because she was CD not very skilled with the curlers. She was willing and eager and very wide-eyed. , 4 She attended all the games and joined clubs whose l meetings coincided. She studied and played with , painful earnestness. She gazed with awe at the upper classmen and could not wait to be a senior. She was very self- conscious and giggled when she saw a fellow any closer than twenty feet. ,Sophomore V748 49 Turf' W5 3 l - A ku ll. . l l In 1948 Tolly was an old hand at Tolentine. She acted big to the freshmen and could not believe that she had ever been like THAT. Tolly was definitely getting better looking. The old uniform did not fit as well. It was too short and way too wide. Her freckles were getting lighter and her hair, with the nightly aid of bobby pins, looked really smooth. Tolly's uniform pockets were usually stuffed but her capezios were oh! so sharp. Tolly was much more sophisticated. Rudolph's and Elsie's were seeing her more and more often. Boys no longer rattled her at twenty feet. They had to get within ten to upset this young lady.
