5 UI' pCl,6!0l 5 2551192 We salute the graduates of 1950 as they leave these familiar halls and go out into new horizons. These four years for them have been years of growth. They have feasted on the things of faith, they have walked in the company of the saints, they have explored the rich achievements of man's genius, they have disciplined their wills to the yoke of Christ's love. Some of them will go on to higher studies. Others will enter the world of affairs to find a proud place for their talents and industry. All will have ample opportunity to continue growth as their minds mature in the whirl of experience and their souls deepen with the beauty and strength of full Christian living. St. Monica's send them into the world as Christophers to carry the spirit of Christ into the marketplace. They must be apostles witnessing Christ in the workaday world. They have spent these last months at St. Monica's under the inspiration of the Holy Year of Jubilee. Our Holy Father has proclaimed this year as the year of pardon and of the great return. The world has wandered from the principles of Our Saviour and has come upon evil days. lt sorely needs the impact of Chris- tian truth. We are confident that our Jubilee graduates, having caught a glimpse here of the splendor of Christian truth, will live that truth in its richness and variety to make it felt in the circles in which we move. Their names will be remembered in the old school which no longer will be brightened with their smiling faces. They will be missed. We bless them now and wish them God-speed as they fare forth into the future.
