u Y! SPRI G 1' 11 The cross of ashes, the brand of guilt we bear Un white brows before the Wednesday world, Begins our backward look to Christ in agony. Our tithe of that scourging, that crowning, That cruoifying, Uur Lent and Good Friday tears We pay, lest we perish. And while old winter gathers his drafty cloak, And on weary feet moves offg The scarred earth ventures a little green, Here and there a surprising white-blue blossom, And it can no longer be borne, This entombing of Cod We The earth bursts Him land usb forth! He is risen and we are reborn! It is Easter - the Day that the liord has made! let us shout our Joy in itl 'Let the lonely heart of humanity burst with joyl Life is the adventure of going to Cod. Let beauty now provoke, pique and disturb, For it is no perishing thing. 'LI am the Resurrection and the Life. .

May Crowning 5 . S I 5 5 .Qin . K, K . ,il D ,hh M The Queen and her court pause for the photographer on the evening of the crowning. Left to right: P, Gildea, M. Quallick, D. Reich, K. Blasko, R. Vogel, S. McGoni.gle, H. Hartman, R. Bilski, and A. Schwartzkopf. May is the awakening: it brings the blossoms that are necessary before the fruition. Like spring, Mary appeared first to give us through the power of the Holy Spirit the fullness of the summer of our spiritual life, the lncarnate Son, Jesus Christ, Who in His omnipotent love created the Mystical Body for our salvation. Without Maryis answer of 6'Yes we would not have had Christg without Christ we would not have been redeemed. So it was that Mary was the instrument of our Redemption, and in thanksgiving the Mystical Body crowns her Queen of its members. Mary is the queen of May. She is the queen of men. Our beautiful May Queen, Susan, pauses for a moment as she descends from the altar.
