The sole objec- tive of this organization is thc welfare of the school and the upholding of the prestige which it has acquired through the years. The council is composed of representatives from every classroom and organization in the school. Thus, everyone has a voice in matters concerning student life in the school, The organi- zation is divided into committees which concern themselves with the various phases of school lille. The results have been a deep-rooted cooperation and great bonds of respect hetween schoolmates and their leaders. The curriculum of the school has been the beneficiary as well.

Home and School Association The Home and School Association stands high in the life of St. Michaells. lt has contributed much time and effort towards maintaining good relations hetween school and the home. At the monthly meetings many prohlems of parent-chil- dren relations are discussed, speakers give expert advice on pertinent subjects, and many difficulties are ironed out. The Association not only aids the school in this way: it also helps it financially. Its gener- osity has heen instrumental in providng the school with new flooring. new sewing machines, and new desks. This year the Association celebrated its Fifth Anniversary. A gala dinner was held on the eve- ning: of January ll, at which the Very Reverend Monsignor john B. Nlcllowell was the principal speaker.
