Being the heart of the school, we were required to convey the ideals of our Alma Mater and to preserve all the principles that had been 'laid down as guides to success and achievement. Our taslc was dilficultg not only did we protect a reputation that had been acquired over a long period of years, but also aspired to raise our school to loftier heights. With such responsibilities, we were fortunate to be under the protection of Saint Michael. , It was with the aid of his mighty shield and sword that we guarded the stand- ards at Saint Michael's. Just as Michael took weapons in hand and with courage stood to defend what was right, we too have done our best to light evil and retain peace within our beloved school. ' There were times of success and times of failure, but never did we lose our power of determination, a power derived from the spirit of the -Michaelinians before us. Now we take our place among the alumni. With a feeling of satis- faction we hand to our underclassmen the heritage of the Michaelinian Spirit.
