Ring Day....,41ewz'aj1fAe One of the most memorable events of our Senior Year was Ring Day. It was one of the happiest Clays of our school life at St. Nlichnelys, for we became true Micliaelininns. Beginning with Mziss in the morning we offered ourselves to God, thanking Him for the three wonderful years already spent here. We asked l'lis forgiveness for all the mistakes we made and all our shortcomings. We implored Hiili to help us continue in His grace and obtain the most from the opportunities afforded us. We will always remember the inspiring words of Father Edward, who reminded us of our posi- tion as seniors in the school. He said that our rings are symbolic of the lVlichaelinian Spirit and that in receiving them we became true Michaelinians. He reminded us that the senior is the heart of the schoolg it is his love and spirit and sacrifice that unites all Michaelinians into the family that we are. We felt a great responsibility that morning and we were determined to defend the Michael- inian Spirit and keep it ever glowing in our hearts and in the hearts of future Michaelinians. Many thoughts run through the minds of the seniors as they wait to receive their rings.

We are united in the purpose for which we attend St. Michael's. Under the protection and guidance of St. Michael we are educated as Christ-like individuals. During these formative years we try to gain the wisdom of our patron--the wisdom of de- cision. St. Michael knew no compromise and there was no alternative except the right way. This spirit should be a living, vivid quality that becomes a part of us. In our classes this wisdom in making correct decisions is formed through the iniiuence of the teachers and communication with other students. This prepares us for making important decisions in later life. Having acquired this virtuous strength of mind in regard to our convictions, we have made the years at St. Michael's fruitful. Upon leaving St. Michael's, we should be equipped to face the world with the wisdom of an angel Michael and the holiness and purity of a saint.
