FITZSIMMONS A Priest after the Heart of Christ September, 1958 found us, the Class of 1959 of St. Michaels High School, welcoming a new pastor, Father Hugh Fitzsimmons. XVhat is he like? XVill we measure up? We didnt have long to wait for answers, for our pastor is above all things a man of action. His pace has slowed often enough and long enough for us to discover his kindly heart and his profound and enthusiastic interest in us individually. We quickly perceived in him the many qualities that raise him above the ordinary. None has made a greater impression on us than our pastor's com- plete intolerance of any form of injustice. A Christlike quality, indeed! On the occasion of the twenty-fifth anniversary of your ordination to the priesthood, Father, we wish to offer our congratulations, and We beg Almighty Codls blessings on a fruitful pastorate at our Alma Mater. fp-1' I Reverend Many Thanks! YVe came to St. Michaelis High School together-you, Father Conheeney and we, the Class of 1959. The special kinship resulting from this coincidence has made us cognizant of what we owe you in the way of thanks,', which is best expressed while we are together as a class and you are still actively guid- ing, inspiring, and just plain understanding us. Of your time you give unceasingly, of your patience, untiringly, of your spiritual treasures, unquestionably, and of yourself, wholeheartedly. You do not just encourage school spirit, you motivate it, all the while up- lifting our spiritual and moral ideals. Our prayerful gratitude is expressed in the petition that you may always experience the peace that fills every priestly life lived as yours, according to His Holy XVill. THONIAS P.
