Juska. Few people of our era can be said to be dedicated to the highest principles of their calling. We here salute one such man, Mr. Thomas F. Fabish. From the time he became drum rnaior at De La Salle High School lin l928l, his entire life has been dedicated to the advancement of music, of excellent music, music of highest quality of every style. Some advance their field abstractly, Mr. Fabish only pursued excellence through the boys he taught. Whether as Band Master at De Paul University, a iudge of international festivals in Canada, or as a guest director of mass band festivals at the University of Miami, Mr. Fabish's sole interest has been to have boys express man's noblest emotions through the most fitting music our world has to offer. Whether, as one of the few who bear the title, American Band Master, or as a member of the elite Kappa Kappa Psi music fraternity, or as a professional musician, Mr. Fabish's motto has always been, the best, only the best. The nearly one thousand men who have made music a career attest proudly to his overwhelming success in fulfilling his motto, his ideals. Whether one is an old time Jazz player, a modern dance band director, a symphony musician, or just ci lost choir player in a small boys' band, all, without exception, rise to salute a true man. To the first director of the C.Y.O. band, to one of the first members of the Catholic School Music Association, the first and only Bandmaster of St. Mel High School, we salute Mr. THOMAS F.
