X, X The very reason for the existence of St. Mel is the imparting ot religious instruction. ln the many fine public schools of our city, expert teaching is given in the commercial, scientific, and linguistic areas. To learn religious principles as well, we choose to support o private school by our tuition iust as we support the public schools with our taxation. Religion includes the doctrines of the Church, right conduct, Church ceremonies, the life of Jesus, the history of the Church, the Encyclicals, and life prob- lems. We are also given frequent occasions to frequent the Sacraments, and say at least a short prayer every half-hour. I8
