Mr. Ott is pictured with his wife, Doris, son, Mike, and daughter, Nancy. Mr. H. Thad Ott was elected Superintendent of St. Matthews Public Schools effective July 1, 1972. His elec- tion to this position climaxes a long career of dedication and success at SMHS. Serving as our Principal since 1965, Mr. Ott is well known to students and teachers alike. Before assuming his principalship duties in 1965, Mr. Ott was a long-time teacher and coach at SMHS. His teams have recorded many wins and championships, including one state championship. Mr. Ott has been a friend to us all. 19
