Smoak Reta Ann Wiles Brenda Yelman Dorothy Zeigler The Beta Club had a busy and rewarding year under the guidance of Nancy Crook, president; Tommy Knight, vice president; Ann Frazier, secretary-treas- urer; and Mrs. M. O. Nelson, advisor. They all worked hard compiling a scrap book to enter in the judging at convention. Speaking of con- vention . . . That's where some of the members were, February 21-23. Besides being educational and informative, the convention also proved to be loads of fun! The money-making activity of the year was the car wash. The Betas worked all day cleaning the cars of their supporters.

The YELLOW JACKET is the high school newspaper. Six issues are published during the year, the last of these being the Senior issue. The staff, thirty-five students, is composed of seniors, juniors, sophomores, and freshmen. A Harvest Festival is sponsored by the YELLOW JACKET on Halloween of each year. A Harvest Queen and Harvest Princess are crowned. This year Rita Hutto was Queen and Marge Wannamaker was Princess. A sock hop follows the Festival. The YELLOW JACKET sponsors another event in the spring. This varies from year to year. Margaret Anne Smoak, Editor; Miss Adams, Advisor; Owens Nelson, Assistant Editor. Harvest Festival drew crowds of apple bobbers.
