A porfion of fhe roof area will be covered fo serve as a shade area during acfivify periods. The new School will provide much more open play' area fhan fhe presenf school. CONSTRUCTION The building will be consfrucfed of brick and file ex- ferior walls, reinforced concrefe frame wifh a sfrucfural glazed file school corridors. Walls will be plasfered. All maior rooms will confain acousfical ceilings and confinuous fenesfrafion will be used in all class room areas. The fronf facade of fhe building will be faced wifh hard sfone of con- frasfing color fo fhe exferior face brick. Large glass enfrance doors will open al' sidewalk level. The enfire .building will be fireproof consfrucfion. SITE The New School address will sfill be 207 Norfh Sf. lvlary's Sf. No ofher sife can be found as convenienf for fhe enfire parish. as cenfrally locafed. as adapfed fo our needs as a Parish Cenfer and School. The old building will be forn down and fhe new one will rise in ifs place. A BRAND NEW S. MARY'S FOR A GRAND OLD ST. MARY'S. Adequafe arrangemenfs are being made for quarfers for school for fhe nexf year, so fhaf school as usual will go on during fhe consfrucfion. Consfrucfion fime will cover a whole school year, buf we will fake care of our children during fhaf year. THE SCHOOL The School will confain fwo large classrooms on fhe firsf floor for fhe firsf and second grades, and six sfandard rooms on fhe second floor for fhe ofher six grades. Thus all classrooms are on fwo floors. Besides classrooms fhere will be a library. office. healfh room, music rooms. care- faker's quarfers. The heafing sysfem will be separafely confrolled for fhe school and for fhe audiforium, so fhaf eifher may be furned on as necessary. Every classroom will have soufhern exposure. THE CONVENT t The Convenf will be a fwo-sfory penfhouse builf afop fhe school in fhe back. The firsf floor of fhe convenf in- cludes Chapel, dining room, kifchen, laundry, sewing room. sfudy hall and parlor. The second floor of fhe convenf will be nine rooms for fhe Sisfers. The area will be connecfed fo all floors by elevafor. THE AUDITORIUM-GYM The new Audiforium will be builf so fhaf if can be used as a junior gymnasium. The playing courf will measure 42 by 75 ff. There will be sfage and dressing rooms. A balcony runs along fhe soufh wall of fhe audiforium. Capacify will be 600. The Audiforium exfends from base- menf fhru fhe firsf floor, insfead of, as now, from firsf floor fhru fhe second floor. This was done so fhaf all fhe classrooms would be on fwo floors only.
