In her ex- ample of heroic purity, indomitable courage, steadfast patience, and of the many other con- victions to which she adhered so tenaciously, we envision U16 typical American youth, a pattem ofthe practice of the very aims and ideals that we have culled from our years at St. Mary's. Tlius Kateri has become for us an inspiration, a symbol of the contribution we hope to make to the great American Heritage that is ours. Just three hundred years ago, she lived in the little Indian village afOsseri1erion, now Auriesville, almost, you might say, at our very door.
