CLASS HISTCDRY As We, the Seniors of 1965, see the end of our days at St. lVlary's drawing near, We can't help comparing how we are now in contrast to what We were when we first came here. We find ourselves gathering up our be- longings with mixed emotions -- amazed at how much We have accumulated over the past three years. Just as the new experiences symbolized by the snapshots, corsages, t on our old bulletin boards have made us more Well-rounded individuals e c., so also have the spiritually and emotionally uplifting experiences of nursing enriched us all. We came here as girls ready to receive -- to live and l r but we will leave as young women -- finally ready to give back to our ea n, individual worlds just a little of the love and warmth so sorely needed. CLASS HISTQRY When emotions are young, they bubble like new wine, however, the more they are nurtured the more they become quieted. The Junior Year is the beginning for realization. It disrobes a friv olous nature and clothes itself in new responsibility. lndividuality rather than conformity exists. Laughter is subdued by tears. Love is given -- selflessness begins. Tomorrow becomes today -- a nursing student emerges. f UQ .5 A 4, W ' ,SAX L v , f M f 0 2 f 'xx X z , mwa- V 4 , W ,X 1? A 1 7 -.Af mxvvf x,.X,.gz Q ' .WW Z '9 7 'Z , VC, , .W X mv? MARY' MISS STUDENT NURSE MISS M RY BETH PAYNE Nursing is the give and take, the recognition of the imperfections coupled with the innate glories of human nature, stripped from the sham and superficiality of the modern world. Nursing is incorporating that silent, arthritic, little old 'man propped in the wheel chair, with that wr-iggling bun- dle of new life tucked in the basinette with that disturbed, withdrawn adoles- cent huddled in the cornerg and calling them all humanity. Nursing is know- ing and understanding each as an individual and striving to meet their sep- arate needs.
