X Consistency in the team and consistency in the individuals best explains the success of Coach Riley's Cross Country team. The 1974 season was one of trend setting and record breaking with Jay and Paul Thompson leading the field Jay set a record with the number of points collected t1969i, and had the best time in the District Meet l10:48i, Paul was the most improved runner for the season, The team made their best showing at District by taking second place, and at the Liberty Invitational, they took their first invitational victory with the Iow- est team score ever, 37 points. 1. Trojans set team goals, 2. Coach Drayton Riley. 3. Trojans sprint for position at Regional, 4. Jay Thomp- son with the pack behind him-once again. 5. Two strong reasons for Trojan success - Jecker and Marquis. 6. Mike Ragsdale catches second wind. 7. Frank Pinon's effort insures Trojan consistency.
