JOYCE WILSON 'll 4 Three Weeks In-Service S erziors' Special Projects 3 i s To hope means to be ready at every moment for that which is not yet born, and yet not become desperate if there is no birth in our lifetime There is no sense in hoping for that which already exists or for that which cannot be. Those whose hope is weak settle down for comfort or for violencep those whose hope is strong see and cherish all signs of new life and are ready every moment to help the birth of that which is ready to be born. Erich Fromm The senior experience Senior year is the fulfillment of the high school learning experience. Part of this is completed in the activities plan- ned by Mr. Eskew and Ms. Keleher. Whether it was swim- ming in 50 degree weather, roller skating in skirts and dressy clothes, or just running around empty parking lots, every activity was devoted to one objective - the growth of each individual as a part of the group. Through falling down together, laughing together, helping each other up again, the senior class came to learn the true- meaning of oneness. .J-....,,4, 1 fr,-lr,-IQ sep. -, . as-nan. ana: 5 '.-urglruri. sI,lll' 1. SPECIA L THANKS to Ms. Guastello for her photographic contributions -- i 158 A ,, -.5 A Within and Without - The other thing necessary for this education is the willingness to learn from everything and everybody, the openness to new things. Real growth in art and life comes to us from the outside as well as from within, comes to us from our relationships with other 'things and other people. It does not come to us from within or from without, but from within and without at the same time, so that we must always be buildingbridges. Without bridges we go nowhere. It is the genius of children in this matter that they know how to go out to other things and people, that they know how to build a bridge spontaneously and to establish a relationship easily.
