A Rainbow On The Horizon eeing a rainbow stretched across the sky elicits an inescapable feeling of hope, tranquility, and blissfulness to all who witness it. It is a magical aura which not only touches our lives but also affects our spirit. It may be the rainbows diverse spectrum of colors that accomplishes this, but it is to a greater extent the various ideas and emotions that they represent. s Freshmen of St. Mary's we entered a whole new and exciting world. Still young and naive in our ways, we had the cour- age to accept a new challenge in our life. This bold leap, best symbolized as the red band in the rainbow, was the little nudge necessary to start us toward our goal. 3n time, our friendships extended be- yond the limits of elementary school. We now knew no bounds. Greeted by warm, bright, sunny faces, like the yellow stripe in the rainbow, we opened ourselves to new relation- ships. ever losing sight of that pot of gold, that achievement, or success we most desire in life, we continued our education at St. Mary's. This is best represented by the green band in the rainbow signifing the growth and learning both spiritually and mentally institut- ed by our teachers. vTr he many long hours that were spent by Vi'' our teachers over the past four years has payed off ultimately in our graduation. Or- ange, a symbol of stamina and endurance, has been shown by each of us in our completion of high school. The reward given to us for all of our energies is our diploma. aking our hard days easier and our sad days happier was a rule followed by both teachers and students of the class of 1987. Blue, another stripe in the rainbow stands for the times of sorrow and grief shared among all of us. Helping each other through the bad times exemplifies the togetherness of our class. The tough times are what has given our class the closeness it has and its spirit. (2| s our rainbow has been completed so have our years at St. Mary's. Whatever path in life we choose, we have the experience and qualifications needed to make it on our own. How ever we decide to reach our pot of gold, we know that St. Mary's has guided us and provided us with a firm foundation for doing so. emembering the happy as well as the sad times at St. Mary's are memories we should hold precious forever. These are spe- cial moments that should remain deep in our hearts. 1ft ears have past, but our storm has final- es ly broken. A rainbow now shines clear- ly with our pot of gold shimmering at the end. No matter how far away or how close our goal is one thing we have all learned at St. Mary's is that we should neve stop reaching for the top. Even if things seem dismal at times, just re- member that there is always A Rainbow Over The Horizon .
