is an abstract term, but it can be felt very definitely at Saint Mary's. It pervades our school: unity of purpose, unity of action, unity in academic life. Bonded by the same ideals and principles which our teachers impart to us, our various academic subjects become as one, with but a single goal. Fused by Religion, mathematics, science, language and literature meld into a solitary whole. Although unity is an abstract term, it can be clearly seen in the arrangement of our academic curriculum. All subjects tend to develop the student to use his talents to sene God well. In language and literature we realize the beauty of God and His creatures; in science we discover the life-giving principle of the Creator; in mathematics, the orderliness of H is plan. No matter what the way of life for which we are now preparing, we all have this single goal: Union with God. As we leave Saint Man’s, a desire for social unity comes with us. We’ve observed unity: we've known a sense of harmony, concord, and togetherness in our years at SMI I. Armed with this knowledge and understanding, we now go forth well pre- pared to apply this principle in our graduate life.
