This is the first time a staff has attempted to cover a full year at SMHS, and to make this transition, we included spring events of the 1969 year. The Zodiac became a sign of the times this year in fashion and entertainment. We used these ancient symbols to arrange class sections - not because we believe in astrology, but because Zodiac symbols repre- sent a search for identity. Our 1970 Purple and Gold is now yours to treasure. 2
