I am George Cox, General Science teacher. It's a real pleasure to greet you. I am a gradu- ate of West Virginia University with a B. S. degree, and a graduate of Arizona State Uni- versity with an M. A. degree. I am also an alumnus of SMHS, but quite a few years have elapsed since I graduated. I can vouch for the fact, however, that your years spent here are very important to you, and that you should endeavor to make every minute count. You'll never regret it. Good luck! Greetings! I am Mr. Paul Cox, Junior High Science, teacher at St. Marys High School. I am a graduate of Salem College. Part of my college work was done at WVU. In my spare time I enjoy cards, reading, and conversation. Baseball and football are my favorite sports. To be successful, the work you do today will not force you to work overtime tomorrow. Hello! I'm George Crawford, vocal music teacher at St. Marys High School. I'm a gradu- ate of Ohio University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. For relaxation I enjoy reading and choral composition. The thought for the day: To learn without being taught is a desirable trait or habit. The opposite; not so.

I am Walter Carpenter, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics teacher. I hold B. A. and M. S. degrees from West Virginia University. I enjoy ''people, all sports, trees, and toads--crickets and cricks --Sunday School and teach- ing. For relaxation I bowl (duck pins), hunt, fish, boat, read and teach. Favorite character - Lincoln. Favorite writer- -Kipling. Students - - Search after truth -- prove all things and fill the unforgiving minute with sixty seconds worth of distance run. I am a native of Missouri and a graduate of Stephens Junior College and the University of Missouri. I earned my M. A. degree at Teachers College. I am teaching English 10 and Latin. Use of leisure time is no problem. I read. The student who does his con- scientious best now will enjoy high school and will probably find that he is prepared for whatever the future may bring. Dear Students - I am Mrs. Susan Cornell, an eighth grade English and reading teacher. Fairmont College is my alma mater where I received my B. A. degree in English and social studies. Reading is an enjoyable pas- time. I also love music, writing, housework, and sewing. To the students I would like to say that: Tomorrow will soon come your way. Today will soon be yesterday, This day is ours to mark or mar.

HI! My name is Bill Duer, I am County Director of Music for Pleasants County, and Band Director at St. Marys High School. I am a graduate of Ohio University, where I obtained my B. S. degree in Education and my M. Ed. degree. I enjoy woodworking and watch- ing TV in my spare time. My favorite sports are boating and water-skiing. Hello, Fred V. Gainer is my name. My occupation consists of being physical education and health instructor at St. Marys High, Head basketball, baseball, and assistant football coach. I received my B. A. degree from Glenville State College where I played basketball and football. My hobbies are competitive sports, fishing, and hunting. My advice to all students is that Time is fleeting --make use of every opportunity while the time is still at hand. Hi! I am Bill Hanlin. I received my B. A. degree at Glenville State College, my M. A. degree from the University of Maryland. I am now Athletic Director at St. Marys High School. I coach foot- ball and track at SMHS. I also teach science and participate in the guidance program for juniors and seniors. In my spare time I enjoy sports and hunting. CLw
