We asked ourselves this question when we began this humble labor . . . perhaps we never fully answered it. When the years have wilted our jests, made absurd our fashions, dusted our cover, faded our pictures, and condemned the larger part of us to the anonymity of time -- this yearbook will have only this to say: these were twelve years we thought were importantg this book, through words and pictures, is an attempt at their summation. - - Yearbook Staff CLASS OF 1955 xx, 'Q 'SW A4 I A 4 I1 ai 'f I any l I Tllrfmflnn Mary Stanton has been a part of the SMHS Faculty for thirty years, any year of which she was an immensely valuable part. The Staff of the Purple and Gold, as members of the Class of 1955, felt her fine influence as her students for two years, and four years later would like, in this small way, to say that we still feel it.
